Carry-on baggage

Carry-on baggages are items that you can bring on board and that can either be stowed under your seat or above your seat, or placed in the spaces designated for this purpose.

Please note that handbags are not considered baggage. The same is true for strollers for children not exceeding 25.5 cm (10 in) in diameter and 92 cm (36 in) in length when folded.

Carry-on baggage allowance

Passengers are entitled to a carry-on baggage policy in the Québec-Windsor baggage policy.

Economy Class

1 personal item Max. 11.5 kg (25 lb.) Max. 43 x 15 x 33 cm (17 x 6 x 13 in.)
And 1 large item Max. 23 kg (50 lb.) Max. 158 linear cm (62 linear in.)

Or

2 small items Max. 11.5 kg (25 lb.) each Max. 54.5 x 39.5 x 23 cm (21.5 x 15.5 x 9 in.) each
Additional carry-on item allowed One (1) additional item of up to 23 kg (50 lb.) is allowed, for a fee of $40 tax included (per direction)
 

Business Class/Youth (12 to 25 years old)

1 personal item Max. 11.5 kg (25 lb.) Max. 43 x 15 x 33 cm (17 x 6 x 13 in.)
And 2 large items Max. 23 kg (50 lb.) each Max. 158 linear cm (62 linear in.) each

Infant items

Travel items for infants and children under the age of 2

Infants and toddlers (with a reserved seat or travelling on a parent’s lap) are entitled to the same carry-on baggage allowance as their adult companion.

Portable strollers

Strollers not exceeding 25.5 cm (10 in.) in diameter or 92 cm (36 in.) in length when folded are accepted on board, and do not count toward the carry-on baggage allowance.

Portable playpens

Portable playpens are accepted on board and count toward the infant’s/toddler’s carry-on baggage allowance.

Children’s car seat

Car seats are accepted on board and do not count toward the carry-on baggage allowance if the child for whom it is intended is also on board.

If the child is not travelling with the individual who is transporting the car seat, the seat will count toward the traveller’s carry-on baggage allowance.

Medical items

Airway pressure devices for people with sleep apnea and compressed oxygen cylinders

Travellers with respiratory problems can bring an oxygen concentrator, a CPAP machine or a compressed oxygen cylinder on board with them. Compressed oxygen cylinders are subject to the following restrictions:

  • Limit of one (1) cylinder per traveller.
  • The cylinder must not exceed 91 cm (36 in.) in length or 15 cm (6 in.) in diameter (maximum volume of 15,000 cm3 or 1,000 cu. in.).
  • It must be transported in a cart that protects the regulator.

Medical equipment

Medical equipment such as continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machines, portable oxygen tanks, walkers, canes, and wheelchairs are accepted on board and do not count toward the carry-on baggage allowance.

Musical instruments*

Standard-size musical instruments can be brought on board and count as part of the carry-on baggage allowance.

Sports equipment

Golf bags*

Golf bags can be brought on board and count as part of the carry-on baggage allowance.

Skis and Snowboards*

Skis and snowboards can be brought on board. These items along with the bag containing boots and bindings will count towards the hand baggage allowance as one item.

Folding bicycles

Folding bicycles must be packed in a bag whose dimensions can be easily measured. With the bicycle inside, the bag must not exceed 62 linear in.

*This policy does not apply to Renaissance cars as there is no space to store this item safely. These non-standard items can still be checked in and transported in the baggage car.

Battery-powered vehicles and devices

Batteries are accepted as hand luggage without limit of Wh

Battery powered vehicles and devices include: hoverboards, air Boards, electric skateboards, air wheels, mini-Segway’s, balance wheels, battery-assisted bikes, and electric scooters.

Important Restrictions:

  • The station employee can inspect lithium batteries
  • It is forbidden to store batteries in the passenger area
  • It is forbidden to connect the batteries to a charger
  • Lithium batteries must be stored in baggage areas only
