Sports equipment
Sports equipment
We allow travellers to carry sports equipment on board our corridor trains (Québec City-Windsor).
Here is the list of sport items allowed as carry-on baggage.
Please look at the grid below to find out what you can bring as carry-on baggage since restrictions apply to the transport of certain items.
Golf bags*
Golf bags may be brought on board and will be counted towards the hand baggage allowance.
Skis and snowboards*
Skis and snowboards can be brought on board. These items along with the bag containing boots and bindings will count towards the hand baggage allowance as one item.
Folding bikes
The foldable bicycle must be packed in a bag whose dimensions can be easily identified. Once the bike is packed, the dimensions of the bag must be smaller than accepted, ie 62 linear inches.
*This policy does not apply to Renaissance cars, however, as there is no space to store this equipment safely. This non-standard item can still be checked in and transported in the baggage car.
Oversized sports equipment
Please contact our call center to advise us that you will be traveling with a non-standard item at 1 888 VIA-RAIL (1 888 842-7245) or 1 800 268-9503 (TTY for the hearing impaired).
* Space is subject to availability.
