Baggage for toddlers and infants

Baggage for toddlers and infants (aged 0-24 months)

Allowed as carry-on baggage

The following items for toddlers and infants will be accepted as carry-on baggage in the Corridor (Québec City-Windsor).

Young children (holding a ticket or traveling on an adult's lap) are entitled to the same carry-on baggage allowance as the accompanying adult (diaper bag or supplies needed for duration of journey count as carry-on items for the child).

Baby items are allowed on board without any service fees.

The child for whom they are intended must be on board. If the child is not traveling with the person carrying the infant item, the article will count towards the traveler's carry-on baggage allowance.

Please note that some restrictions may apply to the transportation of certain items.

Portable strollers

Compact, foldable strollers that do not exceed our standard carry-on dimensions may be accepted on board at no cost. Child strollers exceeding 25.5 cm (10 in) in diameter and 92 cm (36 in) in length when folded are accepted on board and will be counted towards the carry-on baggage allowance.

Car seats, booster seats and baby bike seats

Car and booster seats are accepted on board and will not count as one (1) piece of the carry-on baggage allowance if the child for whom they are intended is also on board.

Portable playpens

Portable playpens are accepted on board, but will count towards the baby/toddler's carry-on baggage allowance.

Allowed as checked baggage

An infant without a paid seat (sitting on their parent’s lap) is only entitled to the carry-on baggage allowance, while an infant with a seat is entitled to the checked baggage allowance (if applicable) at no fee.

Please note that some restrictions may apply to the transportation of certain items.

  • Portable strollers are accepted for free as long as they do not exceed 180 linear cm (71 linear in)*
  • Child bicycle trailers are allowed with a $25 fee.

* Linear dimensions are obtained by adding the length, width and height.
