The benefit period is a 12-month period that begins on May 1, immediately following the qualification period. If you qualify for a higher tier before the qualification period ends on April 30, you'll be awarded your tier the very next day, and you'll keep it for the remainder of the current benefit period as well as the entirety of the next one.
Example: The qualification period runs from May 1, 2023, to April 30, 2024, and the associated benefit period runs from May 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025. If you qualify for a higher tier on September 1, 2023, you'll keep your new tier from September 2, 2023, to April 30, 2025.
If you do not meet the minimum qualifying spend requirement to maintain or upgrade your tier by the end of the tier qualification period on April 30, you'll be downgraded to a lower tier on May 1.
