
Yves Bourbonnais joined VIA Rail Canada in July 2009. As Chief Information Officer, he chairs the Information Technology Steering Committee. He is also responsible for the planning and development of VIA’s Information Technology initiatives.
Mr. Bourbonnais has a solid expertise in Information Technology. Prior to joining VIA, he worked in various industries, including high technology, transportation, media and aerospace. Mr. Bourbonnais occupied Information Technology-related management positions at Bombardier, including the development and implementation of business and technology solutions for the company’s rail transportation division. Most recently, he was vice president, Information Technology at Transcontinental, the largest printer in Canada.
Mr. Bourbonnais graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Université de Montréal. He has spent his career in various technology-related positions of increasing responsibility. He joined VIA to take on the challenge of continued deployment of the IT strategic plan, aimed at offering a more competitive service and exceeding customer expectations.
