Can carry-on baggage be brought on long-distance and regional routes? What types of baggage are allowed on these routes?

Carry-on baggage is permitted across the entire VIA Rail network without exception. On long-distance and regional routes, any additional items beyond the basic carry-on allowance must be checked and transported in the baggage car.
