Important Notice:
Due to maintenance work by the railway infrastructure owner on September 22-24, there will be no service to or from Guildwood Station and some trains will run on a different route:
- Eastbound trains: 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 60, 62, 64, 66, 668, 68: Additional run time enroute (45 mins).
- Westbound trains: 41, 45, 47, 53, 55, 59, 61, 63, 643, 645, 65, 669, 67, 69: Additional run time upon arrival in Toronto (45 mins).

Important Notice: Trains 1, 2, 5 and 6
With the declared state of emergency due to spreading wildfires in Western and Northern Canada regions, VIA Rail wishes to inform its passengers that in the event that we cannot guarantee safe operation, trains 001 departing from Toronto, 002 departing from Vancouver, nº 005 departing from Jasper and 006 departing from Prince Rupert might be cancelled prior to its departure or while en route, without offer of alternate transportation. Passengers would be contacted and informed of the cancellation. Please note that VIA Rail is closely monitoring the situation as it relates to safety of operations as well as air quality. However, as emissions from forest fires can travel large distances, passengers with respiratory problems are advised to take proper precautions and to inform themselves of the status of the air quality before departure. Furthermore, if the train does travel, it could incur a delay on route. Due to the nature of the situation, we are unable to estimate the duration of this delay.
Important Notice: Trains 14 & 15
Due to operational issues experienced by the railway infrastructure owner and heat related speed restrictions, train (14 /15) is expected to incur a delay en route and upon arriving at final destination. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Important notice: Trains 70, 71, 72, 73, 75, 76, 78, 79, 97 & 98
Due to a railway infrastructure maintenance, trains will run on a different route on October 28-29, November 25-26, and December 2-3, 2023:
- Trains 71, 73, 75, 79, and 97: Additional run time enroute (min 45 mins) for all destinations. Delays may occur above and beyond this additional run time.
- Trains 70, 72, 76, 78 and 98: Additional run time enroute (min 45 mins) for arrival in Toronto. Delays may occur above and beyond this additional run time.
There will be no service to and from Oakville station on these dates.
Important notice: Trains 84 & 87
Due to maintenance work by METROLINX, the railway infrastructure owner, trains 84 and 87 have been replaced by buses on October 21-22 and November 4-5.

Light meals, snacks, hot and cold drinks and alcoholic beverages are always available for purchase in the Skyline car.
To enjoy an elegant ambience and gourmet meals served in the dining car, choose Sleeper Plus or Prestige class to have all meals included in the price of your ticket.
Rules regarding transporting, refrigerating and heating personal foods following recommendations from Transport Canada and Health Canada:
- Passengers in all classes of service do not have access to self-serve microwave ovens in any car.
- Passengers cannot bring their own food to refrigerate or heat up unless it is for medical reasons or severe allergies. The only exception is baby formula and baby foods. In these cases the employee will handle both refrigeration and heating. Foods must be kept in their own sealed containers to avoid possible cross contamination.
- Take-out attendants are responsible for heating all foods purchased at the take-out, including hot water.
- Passengers cannot use their own heating devices (portable microwave, kettle…). Electric or battery operated baby bottle heaters are the only exception.
- Passengers can travel with a small cooler with personal items and dry foods they can keep sealed in their accommodation or seat storage.
The Sleeper Plus class offers exclusive and privileged access to the departure Business lounges at Toronto, Winnipeg and Vancouver.
Free Wi-Fi is not offered on this train. It is available, however, at these stations: Vancouver, Jasper, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Toronto.
Please note that most sleeping cars on the Canadian were renovated. However, it may happen that not renovated sleeping cars are added to some train to meet demand or to replace cars scheduled for maintenance.
When you book multiple accommodations online, our automatic system selects cabins which may not be adjoining or in the same car.
