UPDATE: VIA RAIL SERVICES RESUMING BETWEEN QUEBEC CITY AND MONTREAL

Montréal, July 6, 2017– VIA Rail Canada (VIA Rail) wishes to inform its passengers that its train service between Montréal and Quebec City will be gradually resuming today. Delays are to be expected.

Next trains to operate are:

·         #26 from Montréal to Québec City scheduled at 16:40 is delayed at 18:25 (it will be merged with train #28)

·         #28from Montréal to Québec City- regular departure time at 18:25

·         #29from Québec City to Montréal- regular departure time at 17:45

A gas leak in Saint-Basile-le-Grand, near the Saint-Hyacinthe subdivision, forced VIA Rail to cancel many trains operating between Québec City and Montréal today.

We regret the inconvenience that this situation may have caused. Customers wishing to change their date of travel may do so at no additional charge by calling 1 888 VIA-RAIL (1 888 842-7245) or 1 800 268-9503 (hearing impaired).
