Enjoy friendly hospitality and share in the prairie history of Wainwright!
Our free-standing Memorial Clock Tower is surrounded by historic downtown and its unique shops, restaurants and services. Travel back in time and visit the Wainwright and Railroad Museums, or behold the beautiful Battle River Valley spanned by the second largest train trestle in Canada.
Wainwright is the Buffalo Capital of Canada. Commemorating historic Buffalo National Park, once located at Wainwright, a large Buffalo Statue is complimented by a beautiful flowerbed planted and maintained by Communities In Bloom. Plantings include Canna lilies, white cosmos and three shades of petunias, as well as dusty miller and lavatera.
Wallace Park, our largest park, was created in 1965 with land donated to the town by the Wallace family. Walking trails, picnic tables, benches and a playground surround three connecting ponds, which are stocked with rainbow trout each spring. Yearly, memorial trees are added and eight flowerbeds are planted and maintained by Communities In Bloom.
