Things to see & do in Ottawa

Canadian Museum of Nature
Exploring everything from fossils to mammals, botany to earth sciences, the Canadian Museum of Nature is home to Canada's natural history. Collections include more than 10 million specimens gathered over 150 years and covering four billion years of Earth history. Tours, special events and workshops ensure that there's never a dull moment for visitors of any age.
ByWard Market
One of the oldest public markets in Canada, the Byward Market was first founded in 1826 by Lieutenant-Colonel By. This vibrant and popular market is teeming with fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers and artisan handicrafts! Surrounded by numerous pubs and boutiques, the market is also an ideal destination for lunch, brunch, or even a late night snack. Check their web site for more information about the special events that happen all year round, including Mardi Gras celebrations, the Mother's Day Fashion Show and Bytown Days.
Laurier House National Historic Site of Canada
Laurier House commemorates two of Canada's most notable prime ministers, Sir Wilfrid Laurier and the Rt. Hon. William Lyon Mackenzie King. For over fifty years, from 1897 to 1948, the house occupied a central position in the political life of Canada, as the place of residence of Laurier and, after his death, of Mackenzie King. King bequeathed the house to the "Government and people of Canada" in the belief that future generations would be interested in the place where they lived, where they entertained dignitaries and politicians, and where they often conducted the business of the country.
