Major stations of Québec
You’ve packed some amusements for the short train trip – a book and today’s newspaper. There’s also that report you’ve been reworking. All you have to do is plug your laptop into the outlet!

You smile at the thought of your canoe travelling in the baggage car. Soon, you and your canoe will be cutting through crisp waters, surrounded by forests and rugged cliffs carved out by lava and glaciers. You may even see a bear!
You’re enjoying an afternoon snack on the train when you suddenly find yourself in conversation with your neighbour. She proceeds to tell you how exhilarating it is to kayak down the Saguenay Fjord, to watch seabirds circling the cliffs and the thrill of knowing you might see a beluga whale surface at any moment.
Named after the French word for heat, Chaleur Bay stretches to a seemingly endless blue horizon outside your train window. You haven’t moved from your seat for fear of missing a village or sand dune.
But the grumbling in your stomach thinks otherwise!
