Services Back to Normal – Readjusting your travel plans
We realize that many customers adjusted their travel plans due to the potential work stoppage and apologize for the uncertainty during recent days. Having reached an agreement, VIA Rail is offering customers the opportunity to make changes to any travel plans for Friday, Saturday and Sunday (June 14, 15 and 16, 2013).
The changes can be made with no service charges until Saturday, June 15, 2013.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience and would like to thank you for your patience and your support.
Bookings that include at least one segment of travel between June 14 and 16, 2013 (until Sunday) may be refunded or exchanged without service charges until June 15, 2013 (until Saturday). Passengers must cancel their reservation before their train departure time to obtain a full refund.
To exchange your ticket, you must do one of the following:
• If you booked online or through VIA Rail’s telephone sales office, you can cancel your original booking and make a new booking online, by phone, or at a staffed VIA Rail station until June 15, 2013.

• If you booked through a tour operator or a travel agency, you must exchange your ticket through your tour operator or travel agency.
VIA Rail Canada is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with the Canadian Auto Workers’ union (CAW), which represents some 2,200 employees who provide services in stations, telephone sales offices, maintenance centres, offices and on board trains.
