VIA Rail operating between Halifax and Montreal despite the snow storm - All other trains operating normally in Eastern and Central Canada -

Montréal, March 15, 2015– VIA Rail Canada (viarail.ca) wishes to inform its passengers that train service between Halifax and Montreal (#15, the westbound Ocean) is still operating today but with a one-hour delay. VIA Rail train #15 is now expected to leave Halifax station at 1PM EDT.

This will also make it easier for our customers to get to the train station on-time, given the stormy road conditions.

VIA Rail is communicating with customers who have reservations on the affected train. We regret the inconvenience that this situation may cause. Information and reservations are available at viarail.ca or at 888 VIA-RAIL (888 842-7245), TTY 800-268-9503 (hearing impaired).

Update – Québec City – Windsor Corridor Operations

With a winter storm hitting the East of Ontario and Quebec region and impacting other modes of transportation, VIA Rail Canada (VIA Rail) advises that its trains in the Windsor – Québec City corridor region are operating normally. Minimal delays may be expected.
