VIA cancels train 692 travelling from Churchill to Winnipeg

Churchill, MB - January 17, 2015– VIA Rail Canada (VIA Rail) wishes to inform its passengers that, due to an equipment shortage, train # 692 will not operate between Churchill and Winnipeg this evening, January 17. VIA Rail is communicating with customers who have reservations on this train and affected passengers travelling to Winnipeg will be provided with alternative transportation or booked to travel on a future train. 

VIA Rail anticipates a return to normal southbound service on Tuesday when train 690 is scheduled to depart for Thompson and The Pas and on Thursday when train 692 is scheduled to depart for Thompson and Winnipeg. Northbound service is not affected.

VIA Rail regrets the inconvenience that this situation may cause. Customers wishing to cancel or change their date of travel may do so at no additional charge by calling 1 888 VIA-RAIL (1 888 842-7245) or 1 800 268-9503 (hearing impaired).
