VIA RAIL CANADA PROMOTES SUMMER YOUTH TRAVEL WITH AN UNPRECEDENTED OFFER: UNLIMITED RAIL TRAVEL FROM JULY 1ST TO AUGUST 31

Two Types of Passes Make it Easier and Affordable for Youth 12-25 to Visit Canada by Train This Summer

Montréal, June 18, 2014 – The school year is over and it is time to book travel for the summer! VIA Rail Canada announced today a new rail pass: the Summer Pass for youth, aged between 12-25 years old (and 26+ with the ISIC card). "Canada is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and summer is a glorious time to discover it. By creating this new Summer Pass for youth, we want to encourage them to travel by train and explore Canada’s matchless parks and scenery, as well as its bustling cities and their cultural events, or just visit friends and family", says Martin R. Landry, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer.

There are two options for the new Summer Pass for youth:

1) Unlimited travel in the Québec City – Windsor corridor, valid from July 1^st to August 31, 2014, in Economy class for $499 + taxes

2) Unlimited travel across VIA Rail network, valid from July 1^st to August 31, 2014, in Economy class for $999 + taxes

Purchase must be made by either calling 1 888 VIA RAIL (1 888 842-7245) or going to a station ticket office. You cannot buy the Summer Pass for youthonline. However seat reservations can be handled online, like VIA Rail Canada’s other rail passes.
