VIA Rail’s Annual Public Meeting Webcast

Canadians can join the APM this year, from anywhere in the country!

Montréal, May 27, 2013 - In its ongoing effort to connect with as many Canadians as possible while efficiently managing public funds, VIA Rail's Annual Public Meeting will be taking place by webcast this year. This innovative and less expensive approach to hold a public meeting also makes it accessible to all Canadians, from coast to coast.

Staying true to its mandate to connect Canadians, the webcast is yet another element to add to VIA Rail's recent technology improvements, which also include world-class Wi-Fi on board, e-boarding passes and the upcoming on-board entertainment system.

"We are excited to hold our Annual Public Meeting using a web-only approach. This method is both innovative and cost-efficient. More importantly, it allows us to bring our report on last year's activities to more Canadians. We look forward to the feedback on this year's approach from all our stakeholders," said Yves Desjardins-Siciliano, Chief, Legal and Corporate Affairs Officer, Corporate Secretary, at VIA Rail Canada.
