VIA operations update: All trains operating despite Winter storm warning - All trains still in service

Seats still available in Windsor-Québec City Corridor – VIA expects demand to peak - Act quickly

MONTREAL/TORONTO – With a winter storm hitting Ontario and Quebec and forecasts of heavy snowfall or rain expected to affect road and air transportation in the coming hours, VIA Rail Canada advises that all trains in the Ontario – Quebec corridor are operating normally. There are already reports of delayed or cancelled flights in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. As the storm makes its presence felt, VIA expects demand for seats to quickly increase.

VIA operates some 60 trains per day throughout the Ontario-Quebec Corridor. VIA will add cars where possible to meet the increased demand. Passengers are therefore advised to book as early as possible and to verify departure and arrival times.

Information and reservations are available at viarail.ca, at 888 VIA-RAIL (888 842-7245), TTY 800-268-9503 (hearing impaired), or through your travel agent.

Customers can also use VIA ticket kiosks to avoid lengthy line-ups or driving and parking stresses associated with inclement weather.
