VIA's train service between Toronto and Capreol interrupted due to freight train derailment

Montreal, October 1, 2010 - VIA Rail Canada wishes to advise travellers that due to a freight train accident near Parry Sound, Ontario, passenger services will be replaced by motorcoach between Toronto and Capreol, in both directions, for at least the next 48 hours.

This will only affect one train in each direction, the westbound and eastbound “Canadian” that travels between Toronto and Vancouver.

VIA wishes to apologize for any inconvenience this disruption, which is beyond VIA’s control, may cause to its customers.
