VIA's Victoria to Courtenay Services Temporarily Replaced by Bus

Victoria –VIA Rail Canada wishes to advise travellers that due to track maintenance work currently being undertaken by the ICF (Island Corridor Foundation), it has temporarily suspended its regular train service between Victoria and Courtenay in both directions.

Work will continue until Friday, March 25, 2011, with regular train service expected to resume on Saturday, March 26, 2011.

VIA has arranged for a chartered motor coach for passengers holding tickets or wishing to travel during this period.

Customers wishing to travel but who have not yet purchased a ticket, are encouraged to do so ahead of time as space is limited. 

VIA’s northbound train 199 departs daily from Victoria to Courtenay at 08:00 am.

VIA’s southbound train 198 departs daily from Courtenay to Victoria at 1:15 p.m.
