Train will depart from New Carlisle to Montreal according to regular schedule
Montréal, March 7, 2011 – VIA Rail Canada wishes to advise passengers that its service between Gaspé and New Carlisle is cancelled for Monday, March 07, 2011, due to a severe snow storm. However, the train will continue according to its regular schedule between New Carlisle and Montreal.
This exceptional situation is the result of a snow plow incident that occurred near Chandler yesterday, forcing the VIA train to end its route in New Carlisle. VIA was able to provide passengers with motor coach transportation to Gaspé this morning. VIA had planned to offer the same service this afternoon, but because of the severe snow storm, the motor coach cannot operate between Gaspé and New Carlisle.
VIA apologizes to its customers for any inconvenience resulting from this situation, which remains out of VIA’s control.
The Montréal Gaspé train leaves Montréal en route to Gaspé every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday evening, and leaves Gaspé en route to Montréal every Monday, Thursday and Saturday afternoon.
