Montreal, March 01, 2011 – VIA Rail Canada wishes to advise travellers that regular service between Montreal and Gaspé will resume tomorrow, Wednesday, March 2, 2011. VIA’s regular train service was disrupted due to an earth shift that damaged a portion of the tracks on February 22 near Gascons and forced the temporary closing of the rail line between New Carlisle and Gaspé.

While the service interruption closure was outside VIA’s control, VIA nonetheless apologizes to its customers for any inconvenience that it may have been caused.

VIA trains leave from Montreal for Gaspé every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday evening. The train departs Gaspé every Monday, Thursday and Saturday afternoon for the return trip to Montreal.
