VIA Rail Canada has suspended service between Montreal and Senneterre/Jonquière following a CN freight derailment

Montréal – VIA Rail Canada wishes to advise travellers that due to a CN freight derailment near Saint-Tite, Quebec which occurred on November 21, it has suspended service indefinitely between Montréal-Senneterre and Montréal-Jonquière in both directions.

The derailment caused extensive damage to a railway bridge.  VIA has not yet received confirmation as to when bridge repairs will be completed and the rail line reopened. 

VIA is attempting to contact all affected passengers to advise them of this situation.
