WANT TO OUTSMART WINTER AGAIN? VIA RAIL READY TO HELP YOU

Heavy Snow and Freezing Rain Forecast for Ontario and Quebec

Montréal, March 1, 2016 – Heavy snow and freezing rain are on their way to much of southern and eastern Ontario and Quebec starting later today and continuing through Wednesday.  Forecasts indicate that road and other travel conditions could deteriorate rapidly.

VIA Rail says it is once again ready to help travellers outsmart winter. The company indicated that it will add capacity where possible to meet the demand, but urges passengers to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment, and to verify departure and arrival times of trains in the affected regions. Passengers can do that and sign up for VIA’s automated Train-Alert Service at http://reservia.viarail.ca/tsi/tsiresult.aspx?l=en.

For information or to reserve, go to www.viarail.ca or call 1-888-VIA-RAIL (1-888-842-7245) or 1 800 268‑9503 (TTY for the hearing impaired).
